1.) '' Was this the dog that had not yet barked?''
I believe this qoute means that General Smith wondered if the chinese were trying to lure him and his troops over the bridge to ambush them. Pg. 103
2.) '' All hands. Make sure every shot counts''
I believe this qoute means that because they were out numbered by alot they should try to shoot the chinese in one shot to conserve ammunition. Pg. 113
3.) '' He was a brave man, all over the place looking for ammo''
I believe this qoute means that Zullo was demanding for ammo so he could keep shooting at the chinese to defend him and his troops. Pg. 128
I dont think your so discribtive enough with this. Also i think there could have been better quotes. Dogs not barking in the army means they're most likely killed. You are right yes but i didnt understand untill i asked my father.
ReplyDeletei think your quotes were good ones you just need to explain them a little better but in all they were great
ReplyDeletevery nice! i enjoyed reading these quotes so much. they made me warm and tingely inside.
ReplyDeletewow charles joseph fallato.....this could be a writing that is put in the bible, fifth testament of course! but lets get to the point....i thought your interpretation although short were spot on:):):)
ReplyDeletei like the third quote because i know i wouldnt go out looking for amo on my own to keep shooting at the chinese
ReplyDeleteI agree with the quote that means make sure every shot counts. Back during these wars ammo was very unsufficient. Everyshot these men took they made sure it counted.
ReplyDeleteeven though the explanations were very short i do believe that what you said about each quote was perfect. i liked the second quote the most, being so out numbered itys true you have to make every shot count.
ReplyDeletethe quotes are good i like the first one because it shows the unsertanty of combat for an officer
